Psychotherapy

I am a Relational Integrative Therapist in advanced training at Scarborough Counselling & Psychotherapy Training Institute (SCPTI).

Everyone needs a hand at some point in their lives and instinctively as humans we know that connecting and talking is helpful. Most of the time we can call on friends, relatives and partners to help us out, but sometimes we need to talk with someone who is trained to help us move forward.  My role as a therapist is to provide a safe space in which you can sit and unfold in order to understand what is happening for you right now, the whirlwind of your emotions, and get a clearer understanding of how you might move onwards.

I have been in private practice as a holistic therapist for over 12 years and through this time I have come to realise that in order to grow and continue to find meaning in our lives we need to be fully in relationship both with our whole selves and others.

I provide a calm and comfortable space, and an empathic, curious and respectfully challenging approach to working with you. I will walk alongside you whilst you unfold, and be with you as you get to really know yourself, both as an individual and in relationship with those around you.  In processing all of these experiences together, between the two of us, all parts of the self have the space to emerge and be nurtured.Change can only come about when we fully know, accept and respect ourselves and this is a key tenet of my therapeutic approach.

I am fully insured and DBS checked and I abide by the ethical principles of SCPTI and the UKCP: UKCP Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct

It is really important to find a therapist you feel you can build a good working relationship with, and who provides a type of therapy that suits you.  For that reason I usually suggest that we have a short phone chat before arranging to meet up, that way you can test out whether you think I will be a fit.  I do not charge for this, and you are obviously under no obligation to commit to therapy with me afterwards.
